iPETRO — Zero Leak Challenge
The Undead Shutdown is an industrial VR serious game that combines flange-management training with survival-horror pressure inside a petrochemical plant.
Overview
iPETRO: Zero Leak Challenge (The Undead Shutdown) is a VR training simulation created by Team DEADLOCK. Players practise the ASME PCC-1 star-pattern flange-tightening procedure while defending an industrial worksite from waves of infected enemies.
The project provides a safe, repeatable alternative to training on live plant equipment, combining technical accuracy, real-time feedback, and an immersive petrochemical environment.
A guided tutorial teaches the five-step workflow before timed work phases are interrupted by zombie waves, testing whether players can complete the correct procedure under pressure.
My role
I worked as the team's VR Interaction Developer, implementing the flange interaction in Unity. I built the nut-spinning mechanic, mapped rotational input to each nut, and controlled the tightening sequence so the task only progresses when the correct nut is secured in the required order.

Team contribution

Outcome
The final build combined industrial training fidelity with an unusual survival-game structure. User Acceptance Testing was completed, and the report records stable XR interaction with a target performance range of 72–90 FPS on the selected PC-VR setup.
